Well done Mandy that was a great quiz and a fun meeting.
Thank you for the collection of toiletries I spoke to New Leaf today and will be taking the collection over the weekend. She is really grateful for our continued support.
If you haven’t put your name on the list for the Skills Lunch on 11th February at 12.30 please let Dilys know ASAP. This is amazing value for money three courses for £10.50!
There is a Spring Garden Day on Wednesday 15th April at the Canterbury Academy. Please let Marcelle know if you would like to attend, there are 4 of us going and there may be tickets still left.
There is also a Wisteria Walk on Tuesday 12th May either am or pm. Please let Marcelle know if you would like to go.
On Tuesday 28th April there is a coach trip to Greenwich organised by East Kent Federation. The details are in your East Kent magazine. To book onto this see Marcelle.
The East Kent Annual Council Meeting is on Wednesday 25th March at Folkestone.
The Annual Meeting of the National WI is at The Royal Albert Hall on Thursday 4th June. There are observer tickets available and a coach is organised.
Please put Saturday 4th July in your diaries. This is our annual Charity coffee morning at Frinsted. We will need cakes, plants, raffle and tombola prizes please. We also would love to see you there!
Our two fund raisers this year are a Quiz on Friday 27th March and a Wine Tasting on Friday 25th September. Both will be an enormous fun way to raise money for your WI. There is a list for the quiz night to add your name to.
If you are interested in learning more about the Resolution chosen this year there is a meeting at Chartham VH on Monday 20th April 10.00. The cost is £8 which includes a really good ploughman lunch.
We have several ideas for trips out next year:
- The Salutation Gardens in Sandwich in April. This may have to change as it seems the Gardens are closed!
- The Chatham Synagogue in June
- Downderry Lavender Nursery in July
- Fort Amherst in September
- Trip to see the Strictly come dancing dresses month tba
Please speak to Barbara if you are interested in either of the two films; 1917 on 17-30th January or Little Women 31-6th February, both at Faversham.
This month’s WI craft club is at Joyce’s house at 1pm next Wednesday. All are welcome.
Mandy is organising another Travelling Trends fashion show on Wednesday 22nd April in Bredgar VH. The cost is just £8 and the clothes are really fabulous.
If you would like to visit Jean Delves house for a coffee later in the month please let me know.
The committee are meeting next week and we will be arranging the dates for all the events we have in mind in line with the results of the questionnaire you filled in last month. We hope you will fancy some or all of the outings. Vena is also organising several trips which she will keep us informed about. Thanks Vena.
Next month’s meeting is on Thursday 6th February. We have local business Elvis and Kresse coming along as part of our Show the Love for the planet day. You will love them if you have not already heard of what they do!
