APRIL 2026 NEWSLETTER

Milstead with Frinsted  Newsletter

April 2026

Hello Ladies,

As I sit down to write my first Newsletter as your new President, I am hoping that I will be able to bring the same enthusiasm and attention to detail that Angela has given to our WI over the last 10yrs. I will certainly give it my best shot!

Shortly after the Annual Meeting last month I presided over the first meeting of your newly formed Committee.  The roles within Committee were decided upon and will be revealed at Thursday’s meeting. I am delighted to tell you that we have lots of new ideas going forward, we do however want to hear what our members want too!

As you are aware our lovely member Elaine Broad recently passed away having suffered a stroke 15 yrs ago, she was so very brave and we send our condolences to her family at this sad time.  Elaine remained an “Honorary” Milstead w Frinsted WI Member and a keen participant of the Book Club until the end.   We will be sending a donation to The Stroke Association in her memory and the proceeds of our April raffle will be used for this purpose. There will also be a collection box for you to make donations to this cause if you so wish. Please remember to bring cash with you on Thursday if you wish to contribute.

We look forward to seeing as many of you as possible on Thursday this week, we will be organizing the list for Hostesses this year a little differently and Janice Hook is coordinating this so be prepared with dates that you will be available please.

Our April speaker is Sheila Caulfield who is an Image Consultant and will be telling us how to conduct a Wardrobe Review that suits our lifestyle and personality. Sheila has suggested some members may want to bring along an item or accessory that they particularly like and she will try to incorporate these into her talk.

April birthday girls are Marcelle, Teresa & Eileen…. Congratulations Ladies!

This month’s coffee morning will be on Thursday, 16th April 11am at Barrows Bakery in Sittingbourne High Street.

The Sittingbourne Group of WIs are organising a Summer Games Afternoon on Friday, 10th July 2.30-5pm. It’s a free event and will be held at Borden VH. Please let Jen or Marcelle know if you are interested or put your name on the list.
