March Newsletter 2016

This Saturday 5th March we will be helping to host a coffee morning at Frinsted 10.30 – 12.00. We are responsible for the raffle (I have raffle tickets)! but we also need donations of cakes and bric-a-brac. All money raised goes to Whizz Kidz and it is a good chance for a nice get together. If you are not sure where to go or want someone to go with just let me know. If you can make a cake but can’t attend just pop it to a committee member.

We are going to Faversham for a film night on Monday 14th March 8pm to see The Homesman. If you are interested please let Barbara know.

We are having our annual Quiz Night on Friday 15th April at 19.30. It is a really good evening and if you do not have enough people to fill a table (6-8) just let us know and you can sit on a table with others. If you are interested please let me know.

There is a meeting at Chartham on Monday 18th April 10.30-1.30 to discuss this years proposed resolution. I have sent off the booking form for Barbara and myself. If you would like to attend I am sure I could apply for another seat.

Painters Forstal w Selling have invited us to their party 19th April at 2.15pm at Eastling VH. (Linda, Barbara, Di, Dilys and Angela will attend)

The Group Meeting is being hosted by us this year on Wednesday April 20th at 19.30. The cost is £1.50 per person and the entertainment is by Martin Harrison with ‘Mediterranean melodies – a cruise in song’. It will be a lovely evening and we would like to have as many of our ladies as possible. This is the bi-annual meeting where the WI’s within the Bredgar Group all get together and is a really good way of meeting other Groups and ladies. Please let me know if you will be attending. Pat also needs photos either at next meeting or emailed over to her pat.newman3@hotmail.com. We will need food for the evening and would like finger food just like you did for our birthday party last year.

We are visiting Belmont House and Gardens on April 26th, meeting 10.30 at Belmont. The tour costs £7 and food is extra, you are welcome to bring partners or friends. This will be a lovely day and a great start to spring.

East Kent Federation is organizing a trip to the Houses of Parliament. It will cost £23. The coach leaves Sittingbourne at 9.20 (other pickups are arranged). The coach will leave London at 17.30. If you are interested please call me ASAP as Federation need numbers immediately.

In September we are visiting Quex Cotton Powell museum. We will meet at Quex on the 7th. The cost is £14 including a cream tea. Time to follow.

The visit to the Sikh Temple, Gravesend is booked for 8th November meeting at 11am. There is no fee, just a donation.

Please give your name to either Mandy or myself if you would like to join us at either of these events or put your name on the list next month.

Another date for the end of the summer is our Beetle Drive on the 2nd September. This is a fast, hectic noisy night out and brilliant fun!

Date of next meeting is Thursday 7th April. We have The History of Macknades Farm Shop. With samples – hopefully!!!
