Milstead With Frinsted WI – celebrating 103 years
We are a mixed age group of really friendly ladies with currently over 50 members. Our WI is 103 years old. Our meetings take place once a month on the first Thursday (apart from January and May) at 7.30pm in Milstead Village Hall, Rawling Street, ME9 0SU. There is plenty of car parking in our own car park.
You do not have to live in the village or be nominated to join us and you are able to visit us three times at the cost of £2 per meeting, whilst you decide whether we are the right WI for you. Once you decide we are, the annual fee is currently £54.
Each month we have either a speaker or demonstration or a participation activity. Our programme is extremely varied. we are looking forward to talks on – 2004 Tsunami by a forensic detective from New Scotland Yard, a talk about Madagascar, My life on Two Wheels, African drumming, Brogdale collections and an ex SAS officer. We try to provide something for everyone. Following the speaker there are sandwiches, cakes tea/coffee and a chance for ladies to chat.
We meet socially for coffee mornings. We have some amazing trips out, most of them involving lunch. We have previously been to Walmer Castle, Doddington Place and Gardens, Hornbrook Manor for wreath making workshop, Hempstead House, Call the Midwife tour of Chatham Dockyard, Royal Opera House, Loose Women, Marlowe Theatre, river boat trip from Maidstone, Alan Titchmarsh, Old Bladbean Stud Gardens and we have an annual Garden Party.
It’s not all jam making and knitting! If you are interested we can send you our latest newsletters to have a look at our Facebook page

Here is a testimonial from a member:-
“Joining MwFWI is one of the best things I have done. Moving to a new area meant I didn’t know many people, WI has changed that, I have made wonderful friends and have such a good time. I can’t recommend it highly enough”
