Milstead With Frinsted WI – celebrating 100 years
We are a mixed age group of over 40 really friendly ladies. Our meetings take place once a month on the first Thursday (apart from January and May) at 7.30pm in Milstead Village Hall, Rawling Street, ME9 0SU. There is plenty of car parking in our own car park.
You do not have to live in the village or be nominated to join us and you are able to visit us three times at the cost of £2 per meeting whilst you decide whether we are the right WI for you. Once you decide we are, the annual fee is £46 with donation for tea/coffee.
Each month we have either a speaker or demonstration or a participation activity. Our programme is extremely varied. Next year we have Mary Smith talking about a schoolgirls war. Medway Coast guards on Mud rescuing and a cupcake decorating class. We try to provide something for everyone. Following the speaker there are sandwiches, cakes tea/coffee and a chance for ladies to chat.
We have a film club, a craft club and a book club, that meet during the month and we meet socially for coffee. On top of that we have some amazing trips out, most of them involving lunch. We have previously been to Walmer Castle, Doddington Place and Gardens, Hornbrook Manor for wreath making workshop, Hempstead House, Call the Midwife tour of Chatham Dockyard, Royal Opera House, Loose Women, Marlowe Theatre, river boat trip from Maidstone, Alan Titchmarsh, Old Bladbean Stud Gardens and an annual Garden Party.
