Newsletter
November 2026
Hello Ladies,
Happy November birthdays to Katy Heather & Valerie Pilcher.
This Newsletter is being sent slightly earlier than usual as there are a number of things you need to know and prepare for…….so make a cuppa, settle down & prepare for a bit of a long read!! (I wouldn’t do this if it wasn’t necessary).
Here we go…….
- 5th November 104th Birthday Party
Thursday 5th November will be our 104th Birthday Party and even though it’s our normal WI Meeting night, it being a special occasion we have asked those of you who are coming to please put your name on our list as we need to know exact numbers for catering purposes! In addition, we will be joined by 2 members from each of the other 6 WIs in our Sittingbourne group and I’m sure you will all do your best to make them feel welcome!
The food will consist of a jacket potato and a choice of toppings & there will be cake to follow. You should bring your own drinks & glasses please.
The evening will start at the earlier time of 7pm!
(Bring your dancing shoes too)!
Please ensure you are booked as if you turn up and you are not on the list; we will not have food for you!
Contact Marcelle or myself if you can’t remember whether or not your name is on the list?
- Christmas Lunch Saturday 12th December, 1pm at The Red Lion Milstead
You will all have received a copy of the Christmas menu which Marcelle emailed on 11th October with instructions to bring your menu choices & full payment to the Birthday Party as I need to take them to the Red Lion a few days before our December meeting!
You should put your exact money or cheque into a sealed envelope and write your name, menu choices and the amount on the front. (we will have envelopes for you to use on the 5th but as it’s going to be a busy night, it would be ideal if you could come already prepared).
2 courses £28.50
3 courses £35
(I will be collecting a “cash tip “on the day should you wish to contribute)

- Additional events
Following on from the Sittingbourne Group of WI’s successful Christmas 2025 & Summer Games afternoons it has been decided to hold another Christmas Social Afternoon on Friday 4th December from 2-4pm at Tunstall Village Hall.
Entrance is free, there will be a raffle with lovely prizes! Tea & coffee with seasonal nibbles and cakes. There will be “in house” entertainment which if anything like last year will be hilarious! PS if anyone has a funny poem/ or monologue please let me know?
They do require numbers so there will be a list going round at the Birthday Party for you to put your name on (the event is the day after our December meeting so the list has to be done this Thursday!)
- 3rd December meeting
Will be Christmas food tasting and Sandie from Glass Workshops in Teynham will be demonstrating her lovely Stained Glass Making (some of us made Angels for our Christmas trees with her a few years ago). She will have items for sale so remember to bring some cash in case you see anything you fancy?
- There will be no Chat & Chill meetings in November or December as these are busy months for all of us however, if anyone is feeling the pressure and needs a chat please reach out & get in touch – Christmas is often a lonely or difficult time for some of us when everyone else is busy!
- The Saturday Lunches will also recommence in the New Year too.
Phew!! that was a long one this month …
As usual, if you have any queries please get in touch.
Best wishes,
Jen x
