Milstead with Frinsted
Newsletter
July 2026
Hello Ladies,
Happy July birthday to Denise Gee!
Myself & the Committee look forward to seeing you on Thursday 2nd July for our “Garden Party with a difference”. Marcelle has already sent you a separate email explaining that this will now be held in Milstead Village Hall at 7pm the format will be the same, we are not able to hold it in Janice’s lovely garden due to her having an unexpected operation 10days ago, I’m sure you will all want to send Janice your best wishes for a successful recovery!
Please bring the food you have chosen from the list and your own drinks (if you prefer drinking from a glass rather than a plastic cup, please bring that as well).
There will be….
A welcome drink as you arrive.
A free raffle
Don’t forget your hat for the Competition
You will also need your “brains” for the Quiz!
If you have any unwanted & unopened packets of seeds to help a lady from Tunstall who wants to grow them for a charitable cause please bring them along to this meeting as Marcelle will be giving them to her soon after Thursday’s meeting.
The Sittingbourne Group of WIs Summer Games Afternoon is on Friday, 10th July 2.30-5pm. This is a free event and will be held at Borden VH. Thursday evening will be your last chance to let Jen or Marcelle know if you are coming along.
As you know the KSSAA is the EKFWI’s chosen charity this year and to support this we are holding a Coffee Morning on Sat 1st August in Milstead Village Hall from 10-12noon. Attached is a poster for the event and we would like you to print & advertise wherever you can! I will tell you a bit more about it on Thursday, we want as many of you as possible to get involved & help on stalls on the day.
You can help by
Making cakes to serve with refreshments on the day (we need a lot!)
Baking cakes/biscuits, donating excess produce from your veg plot, Jams/chutney/veg/eggs etc. for a produce stall
We will be selling New & Nearly New unwanted clothes, Shoes, Bags, Hats, Accessories, Necklaces, Scarves etc.…I’m sure we all have something we can donate? Does anyone have a clothes rail we can borrow for the day?
There will be a “Bottle Tombola” stall where anything in a bottle can be won – wine (quite a few bottles would be good)! /ketchup/ champagne/shampoo/tonic water/ fairy liquid/ gin…you get my drift? If you all donated at least 1 item that would be fantastic! Prizes will be in a gift bag so hidden from view and handy for winners to carry home. Donations of unwanted gift bags are also needed please, we all have some, I’m sure?
There will be a Craft Stall & a stall selling Honey
A Grand Raffle (if you can get a local business to donate a prize that would be fantastic)!
If you have something you make & would like to sell, please ask about having a stall on the day – all we would ask is that you either make a donation to the KSSAA or give us £10 to “hire” your table (whichever you prefer) and we will donate it to KSSAA
We will need help from members on the day as the Committee cannot do this alone, please come forward on Thursday and support us.
Please note – this will be a cash only event so please spread the word to anyone attending!
Dilys will be taking names on Thursday for cake donations/helpers on the day.
The Coffee Morning Group has been renamed the Chat and Chill Group and will now cover morning coffees, midweek brunch/ lunches & afternoon teas which will be held on different days & times each month. This way maybe we can catch more of you to join in.
The next Chat n Chill will be on Wednesday 26th August at The Maypole in Borden, we will meet at 11am for Coffee and/or Brunch which ever you choose, there will be a list on Thursday so please put your name down if you want to join us …
The Next Saturday Lunch is 25th July at the Red Lion @1pm, Thursday is your last chance to put your name on the list if you want to join us.
Donna will be making sure you have put your names down for our various events.
Lots going on which is why this Newsletter is so long, I wanted to tell you most of it beforehand as I don’t want to waste valuable party time on Thursday!
As usual any queries please get in touch
See you on Thursday,
Jen xx
