I decided to leave it to after the meeting this month so I could inform you of the full line up of the committee for this coming year.

We welcome new committee members Sophia, Sam and Denise joining Claire, Karen, Tracey, Jenny, Marcelle, Dilys and me.

We are very lucky to have you all.

There is a good programme planned for you all this year.

If you haven’t paid your subs yet can I please ask you to contact me or Di immediately so we can get the money in and filter it upwards as soon as possible.You can pay by cheque, cash or bank transfer. When you think what you get for just £4 a month it’s amazing. Not just from our group, but all the events organised by the East Kent Federation and by National – I think it’s incredible value for money.

It’s still not too late to put your name down for the EKFWI annual meeting in  on the 19th March. Please consider joining us this year  or next. It is such a good day , with great speakers. If you want any information please ask me.

 

This months coffee morning is on Thursday 13th 11am at the Chaucer Road cafe again.

 

The next Saturday lunch club is on Saturday 23rd March 1pm at the Red lion. Please let me know if you want to come but your name is not on the list yet.

 

The visit to the Kent police museum in Faversham is on Monday 29th April 2024 at 11am. We will have lunch afterwards for those interested. It is free but I will need numbers. Please  you let me know if  want me to add your name to the list.

 

We will be joining NK travel again for a trip to Worthing and to see the Sistene Chapel ceiling at the English Martyrs Church in Goring-by-sea. on Monday 15th July. The trip costs £25 . I would like to book as soon as possible to get the 10% discount.

 

On the 18th June we are having a local WI coach trip to Ramsgate tunnels. This will be  £25 for scone and tea or £28 for sandwich, scone and tea. I need a £10 deposit at time of booking. There are seats available on the coach for friends/ family. We will be leaving at approx 10.30am returning approximately 4pm. Please come along if you’ve not visited the tunnels before. It will be a fabulous trip.

 

We are having a wine tasting fundraiser this year on Friday 11th October – not to be missed and

our quiz night will be on Friday April 12th at 7pm . Please support us in these fun evenings.

 

This years garden party in July will take place at Janice’s house again.

 

East Kent Federation events are open to all of us. These events are very well organised and so worth going to. I attend everything so you’ll always have a lift.

 

The ever popular Spring day takes place on 10th April 10am in Canterbury. There are three speakers with a flower and gardening theme. This year we have ‘the wonky parsnip lady’ and others. There are great stalls too. Well worth the ticket price of £14

 

There is a literary lunch on Wednesday 17th April in Lydden.

 

The discussion meeting for the Resolution takes place on Thursday 25th April . This is organised by EK to give members and delegates more information about the resolution.

 

There is a mature drivers course on 13th May 7pm at Bobbing Village hall. This is proving very popular . Price to follow.

Murston Heart has an art exhibition featuring our very own Rebecca from 11-13th April.

 

Tunstall village hall is holding an indoor boot fair on the 20th April 2-4pm, see Pauline or Denise for more details.
