Milstead w Frinsted Newsletter

december 2019

What a lovely lunch yesterday! Nice to see so many of you were able to make it. I thought the food was good and the company better. It was brilliant to see so many different ‘W’s.

You all seemed to be having a very good time at the Gin Tasting and the birthday party. We try to keep it all fresh and FUN. We will take your comments on board on the survey when we try to book the outings for next year.

There is a large contingent going on the coach trip to London on Friday with East Kent Federation. You will all have your tickets so see you all at the pick-up point. It should be a lovely day.

Don’t forget to save any toiletries or surplus food for our collection at our January meeting. Whilst we will all be having a warm Christmas with plentiful food it is important that we remember people whose Christmas will be very different. I know you will all support the collection.

If you haven’t put your name on the list for the Skills Lunch on 11th February please let Dilys know ASAP. This is amazing value for money three courses for £10.50!

There are several events organised by East Kent Federation in your EK news magazine. If you are interested in any of them just let myself or Marcelle know and we can book it.

There is a Spring Garden Day on Wednesday 15th April. It costs just £12 and is a very interesting day. I went last year and will be going again this year. There were three very good speakers and lots of stalls.  Highly recommended! Tickets will go fast. Let Marcelle know if you want to go.

There is also a Wisteria Walk on Tuesday 12th May either am or pm. Please let Marcelle know if you would like to go.

Huge thanks to the craft club and everyone who made the gingerbread people. Our tree looked fabulous. Both festivals were good but Tunstall was really super with 97 trees!

Don’t forget next month next year’s subs are due. You should have had an envelope with the details on. Please return to Dilys ASAP. It is £43, either cash or a cheque to Milstead with Frinsted WI please.

We have several ideas for trips out next year:

  • The Salutation Gardens in Sandwich in April.
  • The Chatham Synagogue in June
  • Downderry Lavender Nursery in July
  • Fort Amherst in September
  • Trip to see the Strictly come dancing dresses month tba

Before we go ahead and make a booking please let me know if you particularly want to come but need it at a certain time. The synagogue can do weekends for us, the salutation can do dusk tours. So we have some flexibility.

I would like to wish you all a Wonderful Christmas spent with your loved ones and a very happy, healthy New Year to us all.

See you on the 9th January!
