Milstead w Frinsted Newsletter

November 2019

Thank you for your confidence in me. You all know that I love WI and I do try very hard to make it all work. I will do my best again this year for you.

Your new committee is made up of Marcelle, Donna, Dilys, Di, Jenny, Sue, Sam and me.

Thank you all for your donations to the Sittingbourne Foodbank. It was very much appreciated, even if they drove off without it!!

Don’t forget we are collecting toiletries in January.

I was very moved by Ester and in particular Rae’s story. It was the first time I have cried at WI! I know you will have all been touched and I am sure you will want to support the amazing work that they do. If you want me to coordinate the advent calendars or food contributions please let me know.

If you name isn’t on the list for the Christmas lunch on Saturday 7th December please let me know ASAP. So far there are 29 of us, so it will be great fun. This year we are asking you all to buy a secret Santa gift. You should spend no more than £5 and the gift must start with the letter W. Should be interesting! I have spoken to The Plough and there will be parking for us in the car park and any overspill will be okay on the street. The Christmas Fayre starts at 5pm. So it will be fine.

There are several events organised by East Kent Federation in your EK news magazine. If you are interested in any of them just let myself or Marcelle know and we can book it.

There is a Spring Garden Day on Wednesday 15th April. It costs just £12 and is a very interesting day. I went last year and will be going again this year. There were three very good speakers and lots of stalls.  Highly recommended! Tickets will go fast. Let Marcelle know if you want to go.

Please try and visit our Christmas tree at the Tunstall and St Michaels Tree festivals. The Sittingbourne festival is 28-30th November and the Tunstall one is 5-8th December.

Don’t forget next month Dilys will start collecting next year’s subs. It is £43, either cash or a cheque to Milstead with Frinsted WI please.

Our birthday party is on the 21st November; please let us know if your name isn’t on the list ASAP so we can cater accordingly. This will be a nice relaxed evening.

The December meeting is a Gin Tasting evening, but it is just a bit of fun. If you don’t like Gin please don’t be put off!

We have a website  which has details of all our events and our notice board also contains all the future dates, and a Facebook Group please LIKE our page.
